Privacy Notice

1. Who we are

Newsbed is operated by Marios Georgiades, who acts as the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. Contact: use the contact form at the bottom of any page.

2. What data we collect

  • Order and buyer details: name, email address, company/brand (optional), and the YouTube channel you submit for whitelisting.
  • Licence records: which tracks you licensed, the licence level, price paid, and order status.
  • Support messages: anything you send us by email.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser and device information, and basic usage data needed to run and secure the site.

Payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment provider Paddle — we never see or store your card number.

3. Why we use your data (and legal basis)

  • To fulfil your order — delivering downloads, issuing licences, and keeping your purchase history (performance of a contract).
  • Whitelisting — registering the YouTube channel you submit so licensed use does not trigger copyright claims (performance of a contract).
  • Customer support — answering your questions (legitimate interests).
  • Security and fraud prevention — protecting the site and our licences (legitimate interests).
  • Legal obligations — keeping records for tax and accounting (legal obligation).
  • Product improvement — understanding how the site is used (legitimate interests).

4. Who we share data with

  • Paddle (our Merchant of Record) — for the sale of the product, payments, tax compliance, invoicing, and refunds.
  • Service providers — hosting, database, and infrastructure providers that help us run the site.
  • Professional advisers — such as accountants or lawyers, where needed.
  • Authorities — where we are required by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. International transfers

Some of our service providers process data outside the UK/EEA. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

6. How long we keep data

We keep order and licence records for as long as needed for tax, accounting, and licensing purposes, and support messages for as long as needed to handle your request. When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised.

7. Your rights

Depending on your country, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; restrict or object to processing; data portability; and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. We respond to requests within one month. To exercise any right, use the contact form at the bottom of any page.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and restricted access to licence records — to protect your data.

9. Cookies

We use only essential storage needed to run the site (for example, remembering your session and preferences). We do not use marketing or third-party advertising cookies. You can clear site data at any time through your browser settings.

10. Changes

We may update this notice from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows the latest version.
